Estimator
Job Description
Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements.
Duties:
• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms control, office layout, and implementing changes.
• Provides information by answering questions and requests.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Work with Customers on Job Walks and Bid Requests ( RFQ )
Job Related Skills:
Reporting Skills, administrative writing skills, and Microsoft Office skills. Skilled in analyzing information, estimating, planning, reporting research results, attention to detail and informing others. Preferred but not required knowledge on Sage contractor 100.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to consistently and punctually attend work
- Lift / push / pull < 20lbs
- Stand / Sit / Bend / Reach for <= 8hrs per day
- Climb Stairs, Walk, Run, Squat, Kneel, Drive <= 8hrs per day
- Work indoors & Outdoors in all weather conditions Heat / Cold / Rain / Direct Sun
- Interpret Data, Read, Write, Type, Conduct Q&A with Customers both face to face and
telecommuting - Work at a computer screen for <= 8hrs per day
